Swim Safe Learning

In Te Ngahere Tracy came into our class to teach us about swim safe. The one thing that I learnt was how high the flare goes. I also learnt that using the flare wrong can make it heat up. Some flare guns that can blow up or heat up are not waterproof so we can put them out by placing them in water. I really enjoy learning with Tracy, it makes me feel better and it also makes me be safe in the water. Next time when I am out with my friends at the beach I will tell them to bring a adult to supervise us. Do you have friends that are not safe in the water?

Rugby World Cup Naming

On the first day of school we had to figure out what teams were going to the 2019 Rugby World Cup. We were learning about what teams were actually going and we had to research about how they got their nickname. We had to find out what their emblem was and we had to make sure that we could use the photo for education. I felt great because I got to learn new stuff about how they got their nickname. It was quite hard getting the team names because I didn’t know what team was going to the Rugby World Cup. What team do you think is going to  win the World Cup?

Newspaper Challenge

On the first day of school we did STEAM. We had to build the tallest tower using 2 pieces of newspaper and 30 cm of sellotape. We had to do a plan before using the tape and we also had 20 minutes to do our building. We couldn’t get any ideas and our tower wasn’t high enough to beat other people. I really enjoyed doing STEAM but the hardest part was getting ideas. I did well contributing with the ideas but none of them worked so I had to try my groups idea. I really enjoyed doing STEAM but I hope we could get more materials for the next STEAM Challenge.
